World’s Greatest Dad
I lived with my fiancé for almost nine years. There were a lot of struggles, as he had difficulty finding (or keeping) any jobs, and when he did find them, he would inevitably end up getting pulled over and arrested, since he doesn’t have a license. (I might point out here that he’s now 37 years old.) He would also steal rent money to buy and sell pot – once while our daughter was in the hospital. He said he’d never intended on me finding out because he’d planned on “paying it all back”, and anyways, he “had to make money somehow.” He would take money from his elderly parents, too. He said they were obligated to since he was their only son. I know… I sure can pick them. Despite all THAT, there were many more good days than bad. And he was a fantastic father to our little girl.
Finally, about eight months ago, he got his dream job – working nearly every day, two blocks from home, making great money. I was thrilled for him. That was in April. The beginning of July, my daughter and I woke up early and decided to have a picnic on the beach out of town. We played there for a few hours, then came home for lunch. When we got home, most of his things were gone and he was packing a suitcase. He told me that he’d gotten another place and he was moving out.
Not only was he moving out with no notice or explanation (I still haven’t gotten one five months later), but he’d had time to furnish his new apartment, hook up cable, and have a housewarming party celebrating his new freedom from responsibilities.
I go to school full time, and since he’d gotten a job I’d just gotten switched to part time to spend more time on homework and our daughter. He still owes me a lot of money, and he refuses to come over to see our daughter or our pets – they’re “not his business now.”….Douchebag.

That’s why you get married before you have kids there sweetheart. Oh and by the way, someone without a drivers license at 37, a thief, a drug dealer, and a shiftless bum who can’t hold down work, is someone that in layman’s terms would be called “undependable”. I can only imagine after nine years of blissful engagement to this wonderfully committed gentleman, your absolute shock that he just up and left you. I’m sure he had every intention of making you an honest woman if you had only made it to that 10 year engagement mark.
I feel sorry for your little girl because she has to live with your poor decisions. Please be more careful before bringing a child into the world next time
